Frequently asked questions
This website is designed to be a companion to Archive of our Own, or AO3, to allow user to manage their TBR's and collections in a more uer friendly (or at least what I perceive as uer friendly) way
AO3 is an amazing website and I cherish it, donate to it and use it daily. This website isn't here to replace AO3. I do not archive fics and nothing done on this website affects AO3 or it's content in any way, shape or form.
Yes and it always will be.
No, although I think it's nice to have one
I plan to make my living off of a normal, nine-to-five job. Someday. Hopefully.
That is very true. So far my expanses on this website have been negligible, and nothing I couldn't handle. If in the future the cost will rise and I won't be able to cover it myself, I may consider a way to crowd source this enterprise, much like the Organization for Transformative Works (the org that run AO3) does yearly, and will always make sure all the details and finances are transparent.
No, and I never will. I aspire to be a contributing and moral part of the fandom and community, and as such I will not make money off Fan Fiction. This goes against everything I believe in. Also, to be perfectly honest? I don't know the first thing about collection money-making data, so...
I've looked in to it. Unfortunately AO3 is written in a programming language which I do not speak, like, at all, and my current personal situation and professional trajectory do not include this language or the capacity to learn it. So I started something of my own.
I'm working on one, how long it will take is a whole other question.
To be able to fetch the data foe works and bookmarks, I do something that's called scraping. FanFiction don't like it, however I'm trying to figure something out. Wattpad is a for-profit website that does not really have a convenient way of fetching data from, and since it's no longer the most popular fic site, I think for now focusing on AO3 will have to do.
While I really do appreciate it, it's totally unnecessary. Please keep Fan Fiction free, don't buy bound fics (and if you know or see someone who does - call them out on it) and pay it forward.
Still have questions? I'm working on a contact path with which you can ask me anything you want.
